Spring Workshop: April 15-20, 2024
Location: Little Switzerland, NC
The workshop will center around the collaborative construction of instruments, guided by coach Andrew Ryan. Due to limited space, the attendance cap is set at 20, so be sure to secure your spot promptly. In addition to the group build, we'll be hosting Makers Choice Awards for both violin and viola projects. Attendees are encouraged to bring their individual projects, receiving support not only from their peers but also from Ryan. Engaging round table discussions will cover various topics, including surface preparation of wood and sealing/grounds techniques, fostering a rich learning environment. The Southern Violin Association is excited to announce the Youth Player Competition scheduled for 2025. The competition will feature two age groups: senior and junior. The distinguished winner of the senior competition will be honored with one of the group build violins.
